Odes.

by

Oh, Country A, you have men dressed as chipmunks on the side of the road, advertising cheap haircuts. You have too much cheese on every item on every menu. You are cold cold cold this far north, and I got the car stuck in the parking lot of the restaurant where TMD and I went out to eat alone for the first time since Snort and Coconut were born.

Country A, you have twenty-four hours of Christmas carols, twenty-four hours of discount shopping, twenty four different varieties of vanilla ice cream.Β  You are excessive and unhealthy and wide and full of physical therapy centres. You have snow all over the place and your people are so butch they drive in blizzards with the radios turned all the way up.Β  You serve fake tacos that made me vomit in the bathtub.

We’re gonna miss you….but mostly we will miss the people we love that live within your borders. We leave for Country B tomorrow. (And Tatianna, why didn’t you call?!?! Mamacita we’ve been waiting. Next time, I guess!)

FB didn’t show me that you sent me a 2nd message @ 11:18 when I sent you a message @ 11:19 (or whatever the hour was – but 1 minute apart). So I didn’t even KNOW the # was there! 😦 😦 😦 😦 😦 trust me, i’m super sad about this.

Welcome home to Country B. May all those diaper changes in those airplane bathrooms not much bigger than a suitcase go well. Happy New Year!

I hope you have super safe travels and happy (or sleepy) babies.
